Women vs. Men

You know, when I look at this simple symbol, it stuns me with its complexity. I assume that this can be also due to that constant desire of human beings to explain the most simple and occasional things through the prism of overwhelming wisdom and meaningfulness – it’s understandable, it makes the life worth living, it sort of keeps the mystery alive. Still, the symbol that is known worldwide as “Yin and Yang” looks majestic to me cuz of it’s complicated simplicity.

Besides being a nice theme for badges, tattoos and different meaningless stuff, the symbol has some real background. The Yin and Yang can be described as basic cosmic forces; opposing, but at the same time complementary. That’s what people like – some history behind nice stuff, they can use to prove their uniqueness. Here are some interesting sites where you can read more about it.

Just as the symbol of Yin and Yang, the issue of difference in attitudes and world perception of men and women, despite being “obvious”, reminds me of an iceberg, the real size of which you can only imagine. Even if you accept the theory about 2/3 hidden from you and try to multiply what you see by 3 – how should you ever know about all the curves without diving in and feeling them yourself?
Speaking of which, brings me to the thought of some cute sites about this natural wonder. http://www.wordplay.com/tourism/icebergs/ - full description for those going to visit Newfoundland, but even if you are not – the info is amazing!

Surely, the point is not in discussing the biological traits that are different, cuz surely most of people know about them already. J It has always been interesting for me how these two different species communicate, what thoughts they have when doing the same thing etc. But just as much they are interesting if analyzed separately – their world, their prejudices and emotions they eagerly or reluctantly express.
I disagree that women “live in the men’s world”, I think it was woman who decided her future – naturally, women are not weaker, or more tender, or even more emotional. In nature (and although we might not like to compare ourselves to apes, we are obviously related) it’s the male specie that wears bright colours and “organizes” live performance to attract female. And it’s HER, who can actually bite his head off if something is wrong…or just because they are done making love.
It’s pretty neat, can you imagine a couple after sex – right after ejaculating he gets up and runs around the room, hysterically gathering stuff – socks, underwear and a tie – while the girl, who has just been with him slowly gets up, picks up an axe (still can’t imagine humans BITING the head off!) and smiling sweetly, sneaks towards him…

Anyway, the world was designed for both men and women, and those who complain about being discriminated – well, I am not sure they mean real discrimination. Sometimes women, keeping in mind the fact, that they are to be respected and cherished, forget about doing the same towards the “non-female beings”.
As my best friend once said (he is a male, yes) – “If you wanna have rights - be ready to face the consequences – i.e. obligations” This includes being treated equally, but being expected from equally too... Are we always ready?

Juliet

Howdy!

My name is Juliet (or Lady Juliet if you will ) and I hope you enjoy reading info on this blog as much as I enjoy looking for it writing about things I find important or simply interesting.
You know, I can describe myself as a simple blog dilettante i.e. this is the first one I am trying and let’s see how it goes. If you are still reading that – thank you, you gotta be patient, and you will be rewarded… some day.
In general, I think when people create blogs they have different objectives – like, for example feeling of presence on the internet (you can tell your friends to go ahead and check out your “new cool blog”), for others this is a way of earning money – in both ways 1) some write really useful stuff that can be a serious source of information 2) some are just typing in necessary words for SEO (search engine optimization); I think I would be in the third group – I want to express my views and get opinions. Your opinions, if you feel like sharing them. In my turn , I can promise interesting topics, cute links and personal affection to everyone who comes with peaceful intentions and independent opinion.
